Volkswagen will welcome its fourth SUV next summer with the arrival of the 2022 Volkswagen Taos, a new utility vehicle that will slot beneath the Tiguan in the VW SUV lineup.
Featuring a powerful turbocharged base engine along with a host of safety and connectivity technologies, the Taos promises to deliver impressive versatility and interior space along with typical, Volkswagen German-engineered driving performance.
Pricing hasn’t been announced just yet, but we do know that the Taos will come in three versions including Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline. It will also offer the IQ.Drive suite of active safety technologies that includes Forward Collision Warning with Autonomous Braking (Front Assist), Active Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Keeping System (Lane Assist), Adaptive Cruise Control with a Stop and Go feature. High Beam Control (Light Assist), the Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), and Park Distance Control.
The 2022 Volkswagen Taos will also include an impressive lineup of standard features including the Digital Cockpit that provides a fully digital instrument cluster.
Powering the 2022 Volkswagen Taos will be a standard 1.5-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers an impressive 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.
With 795 litres of total cargo space with all seats in place and 1,877 litres of cargo space with the rear seats down, the 2022 Volkswagen Taos is also very spacious.
“Taos joins our lineup at an ideal time,” said Pierre Boutin, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group Canada. “Taos offers Canadians all the style, technology, and drivability that Volkswagen is known for at a more affordable price than our popular Tiguan.”
