The 2023 Consumer Electronics Show last month featured Volkswagen's first showcase of its new ID.7 sedan with its digital camouflage design, which gave us a glimpse of what to expect from their EV family in terms of efficiency and outstanding long-range performance. Special camouflaging enables impressive electroluminescent light effects too! It follows up from their successful ID.4 SUV, and this upcoming global electric car will be on sale across three continents very soon - look forward to the world premiere of its series production version in Q2 2023!
“With the new ID.7, we are extending our electric model range into the upper segments. The sedan will offer top-class technology and quality. The ID.7 is one of 10 new electric models that we are planning to launch by 2026. Our goal? To deliver suitable products for our customers in every single segment,” said Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars.
700 km of Range
Following the design language of Volkswagen's electric vehicle family, their ID.7 emphasizes airflow along its front section and roof for more efficient energy consumption and increased range abilities. An air curtain guides air along its sides to minimize drag coefficient while its short overhang and 116.9-inch wheelbase provide a luxurious interior space with a maximum estimated range under European WLTP cycles at up to 700 kilometres - surely nothing to scoff at!
Volkswagen Listened to Your Concerns
After hearing from customers, Volkswagen implemented several innovative features in their newest MEB model, the ID.7, to enhance the user experience. This vehicle comes standard with a new display concept along with an augmented reality head-up display, a 38-centimetre (15-inch) screen, as well as digitally controlled air vents fitted with illuminated touch sliders for smoother operations.
Technologically advanced
To give users an improved experience, Volkswagen developed the ID.7 model with multiple technologies incorporated into it. Its intelligent air conditioning system includes Smart Air Vents that can read when the key is near and begin either cooling or heating the inside, along with circulating air across large zones promptly. Its sizable display allows users to switch on and customize features as desired, plus its voice command feature gives drivers the option of making special requests, e.g. turning on the steering wheel heat for cooler temperatures if the driver says, “Hello Volkswagen, my hands are cold!”.
The Volkswagen ID.7, the sixth in the automaker's series of electric vehicles, will soon be available in Europe, China, and North America. The ID.7 is part of Volkswagen's ACCELERATE campaign to advance the cause of electric mobility and will be produced at the Emden plant for European customers. This makes it the second MEB car to be produced there, following the successful launch of the ID.4.
