The seats are the culmination of intensive collaborative efforts between Volkswagen engineers and a team of experts from AGR, consisting of orthopaedic specialists, sports scientists, and physiotherapists. Together, they developed a seat that uses 12 air cushions—two in the seat and 10 in the backrest—for precise pressure point massage. These air cushions serve to activate pelvic and spinal regions, preventing tension build-up and promoting better metabolic function in the spine, according to Ulrich Kuhnt, Chair of the German Association of Back Schools and consultant to AGR.

The ergoActive premium seats provide extensive customization through electric 12-way seat adjustment and a manual two-way seat depth setting. An intelligent memory function remembers your preferred settings. This enables the creation of an individually tailored climate, which can be controlled manually or set to automatic mode for optimum comfort.
