The 2022 Volkswagen Golf R has been entirely renewed to bring you more technology, more performance and more driving enjoyment than ever before, and it has just arrived.
More performance
The 2022 Volkswagen Golf R offers you more performance than ever before. Indeed, the new Golf R is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0L engine which develops 315 horsepower, 27 more than previously, and up to 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be combined with your choice of a six-speed manual transmission for ultimate driver engagement or a seven-speed DSG transmission for the best performance possible. Both transmissions direct the engine’s power through the 4Motion all-wheel drive system that allows for very high levels of grip and traction to pull you out of corners. The steering and suspension systems have been reworked to provide better feel and response in turns and over bumps, while providing better handling and more engaging driving dynamics, which makes the R the ultimate Golf.
More technology
The 2022 Volkswagen Golf R is offered with a host of new technologically advanced features that allow you to stay connected while you’re on the road. For example, the infotainment system is now housed in a larger center screen, as is the climate control system and the customisable ambient lighting system, which allows you to choose from 30 different colours to set the mood. Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit Pro is standard and it provides you with all the information you need to remain in control at all times through a 10.25-inch gauge cluster screen. The whole suite of Volkswagen’s active safety systems is also standard on the Golf R, including the forward collision alert with pedestrian detection, the adaptive cruise control, and the lane keeping assistance. On the passive safety side of things, front and rear side airbags are installed in every 2022 Golf R to keep you and your passengers safe.
