The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan offers drivers the best in terms of performance engineering, as well as advanced technologies and styling. It also has an optional third row, which makes it a better choice in the segment for larger families.
There are many choices in the compact SUV segment. Here, we compare the Volkswagen Tiguan with the 2022 Kia Sportage.
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan delivers maximum torque
Driving in the city or going on a road trip? The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan packs the power and performance you need. Under the hood, you will find a powerful four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-litre engine with an output of 184 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission to move all four wheels thanks to the renowned 4MOTION AWD system, an essential system to conquer all Canadian seasons.
The 2022 Kia Sportage offers a naturally aspirated four-cylinder 2.4-litre engine on most of its models. But it is down on power and torque compared to the Tiguan’s engine, with only 181 hp and 175 lb-ft.
Buyers may benefit from more power and torque in the 2022 Sportage’s turbocharged engine option, but you’ll have to spend much more money for a much less reliable vehicle.
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is much more spacious
When you need to travel with the family, the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is the way to go. It deploys 1065 litres of cargo volume behind the second row, and as much as 2081 litres when passenger seats are folded. The Kia Sportage, on the other hand, only has 868 litres in normal configuration and 1703 when the seats are folded, which represents a pretty sizeable difference.
Need to accommodate more passengers? No problem. The Tiguan offers an optional 3rd row so you can have as many as seven passengers inside. That’s another thing the Kia Sportage cannot achieve. The Tiguan also offers the optional R-Line package, which adds distinctive bumpers and front grille, 19" Trenton alloy wheels and aluminum R-Line door sills, as well as unique heated multifunction steering wheel and brushed stainless steel pedals inside.
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is the best SUV you can buy for your family. Come and see it at the dealership today. You can also shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
