A compact SUV has many purposes. It needs to provide enough performance and handling to accomplish daily tasks on the weekdays and getaways on the weekend, but it also needs technologies that make these trips easier on the driver and passengers. Moreover, it needs to provide enough space for all occupants who wish to tag along. The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan checks all those boxes, and many more as well.
Here, we compare the Volkswagen Tiguan with the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson.
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan provides plenty of space
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is incredibly stylish, especially when compared to the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. Its streamlined design, European flair and premium feel go beyond what the Tucson offers in terms of exterior looks. Buyers may also choose to add even more style with the R-Line package, a carefully crafted mix of style and features that include distinctive bumpers and front grille that bring a sporty and refined feel, 19" Trenton alloy wheels and aluminum door sills featuring the R-Line badge for the exterior.
However, it’s inside that the Tiguan pushes things even further. Not only is it more comfortable and assembled with a better choice of materials and textures, it also gives you the option to add a third row of passengers, multiplying the possibilities for your growing family. Add the R-Line package and get a unique heated multifunction steering wheel and brushed stainless steel pedals.
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan provides a better driving experience
Under the hood of the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan, you will find a powerful four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-litre engine that outputs 184 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. The main engine in the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is a naturally aspirated four-cylinder 2.5-litre unit that outputs 43 lb-ft less torque, with only 178 lb-ft. This can be a serious disadvantage when accelerating in the city or merging onto the freeway.
The 2022 Tucson also has hybrid engines to choose from, but their reliability has yet to be proven. Moreover, you will have to pay much more to benefit the same level of performance that you will find even in a base Tiguan.
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is a superior SUV on all facets, and awaits your discovery. You can also shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
