The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is one of the most spacious, refined, luxurious, fun to drive, and efficient compact sport utility vehicles in its crowded segment. The 2021 VW Tiguan has the Hyundai Tucson beat in terms of space and performance
As mentioned previously, the Tiguan was built for three rows of seats. That means that the cargo area and the overall interior space is generous. There’s a total of 1,065 litres of available cargo space behind the rear seats and over 2,000 litres with the rear seats down.
The 2021 Hyundai Tucson offers just 877 litres of space with the rear seats up and less than 1,800 litres with the rear seats folded down. There’s also less space for passengers front and back in the Tucson.
Under the hood, the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan still has the advantage as well. Powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine out of the gate, the Tiguan has 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. This engine powers the Tiguan to 100 km/h in under 8.0 seconds and averages just 8.7 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway. The Tucson has two engine options, but the most powerful has 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, and it averages 9.1 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway.
