The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas is a mid-size SUV, but it's always been a little different from its direct competition. The only German-designed model in its segment, the new Atlas 2021 has always been a little different from its rivals. More luxurious, more refined and more sporty, the Atlas has never been short of arguments to stand out. Now that it's improved for the 2021 model year, the Atlas has even more ways to win over future owners.
A redesign that is noticeable with the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas
The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas has undergone several improvements this year, both aesthetic and technological. For starters, the look of the new 2021 Volkswagen Atlas is even more refined and even more elegant. We notice the new grille, redesigned bumpers and the new Volkswagen logo in the first place, but there are also new rims and new colors.
The interior is also entitled to improvements. There's a new steering wheel, a new infotainment screen and a new design for the dashboard.
Under the more bulging and imposing hood hides either a 235-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with 258 lb-ft of torque or a 3.6-liter V6 engine that develops 276 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive is standard. The new Atlas is indeed one of the few mid-size SUVs to offer all-wheel drive at no additional cost.
This allows the 2021 Atlas to deliver optimum handling and top performance, regardless of road conditions. The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas can also tow up to 5,000 lbs which is quite remarkable.
