The mid-size SUV segment is heating up with numerous new models being introduced in recent years. The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport and 2021 Honda Passport are part of these recent entries in the segment. Both offer plenty of space, plenty of features, and plenty of reasons to be considered. The question, however, is which model matches your needs best.
Both are quite different. The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is more fun to drive than the Passport, more dynamic and more luxurious. Also, according to the experts, the Cross Sport offers better performance and sportier handling. The Passport has a bit more space, but again, it all depends on your needs. The Atlas Cross Sport is one of the most spacious models in its class with over 1,000 litres of cargo space, and it’s also more affordable.
A more agile personality awaits in the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport
The 2021 Honda Passport is delivered with a 3.5-liter V6 engine which produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s the only option you get in the Passport. The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport can also be equipped with a V6 engine as well, but it also offers a turbocharged four-cylinder.
The 3.6-liter V6 develops 276 horsepower and 266 lb.-ft. of torque. That said, the VW does offer a frugal and powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine which is good for 235-horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque as standard. Both are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Towing capacity for the Atlas Cross Sport reaches 5,000 pounds.
The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, because of its smart packaging, is less expensive and far more value-packed than the Honda. You will get features you won’t find in the 2021 Passport including the Virtual Cockpit, and overall the interior of Atlas Cross Sport is designed around luxury and refinement.
The all-new 2021 Atlas Cross Sport is ready to deliver an unmatched driving experience, value and capacities while standing out with its impressive, German design. Visit us today to learn more!
