The Volkswagen Tiguan is an SUV ready for adventure. It offers excellent performance, three rows of seats, lots of standard equipment and much more. In comparison with the other compact SUVs in the segment, the Tiguan stands out with its interior space, its versatility, its handling and performance, and its design and features.
The 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan takes the lead in performance
The Tiguan has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque available as early as 1,600 rpm. It therefore offers excellent performance in every driving situation.
The Forester features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque, which is considerably less than the Tiguan, and you will feel it on the road.
The external dimensions of the Tiguan promote stability and agility. The height of the Tiguan (1,659 mm) is 91 mm lower than that of the Forester, and the Tiguan has a lower overall center of gravity and a longer wheelbase which makes it handle and perform better. Both models are equipped with all-wheel drive, but the Tiguan offers a FWD model for buyers who don’t need AWD.
The 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan has many other features not found in the Forester
The Tiguan offers five driving modes that add safety and fun to any trip. Essential for Canadian winters, the snow mode allows the Tiguan to manage snowy and icy roads in complete confidence. The on-road, off-road and custom off-road modes allow you to create the optimal driving parameters for your adventure. Subaru's X-Mode system does not provide the ability to customize and adjust settings for off-road conditions.
The Tiguan also includes other features that you won't find in the Forester. The optional hands-free tailgate makes your life a lot easier when your hands are full. Rain sensing wipers work at the right time and help keep your hands on the wheel. And the third row of the Tiguan allows the vehicle to grow with your family. There are other exclusive features such as the Virtual Cockpit, a digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel that you won’t find in any other vehicle.
